4.8 / 5 · 180 totalI had a very disappointing experience with Settle Easy Conveyancing. Communication was consistently poor — responses were slow, and important information was often only provided after key deadlines or events had already passed. I found that I had to chase them for even the most basic details, which should have been proactively explained from the beginning. The level of legal guidance was also lacking. I didn’t feel properly advised or supported throughout the process, and this ultimately led to an issue arising after settlement that should have been identified earlier. What’s most frustrating is that once the problem occurred, they became unresponsive — ignoring emails and calls and refusing to explain why the issue wasn’t picked up beforehand or assist with reviewing contracts and reports post-settlement. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and left me with little confidence in their expertise especially as a first home buyer that knew little to nothing. I would not recommend their services if you’re looking for thorough communication, reliable advice, and proper support throughout your conveyancing process.
Have tried using settle easy too sell my home and purchase a new one but cant ever get intouch with them, have tried calling 3 times and been put on a wait list and have emailed 3 times over 2 weeks and not heard back from any so i will be changing settlement agents
Had a flawless experience with Nick - knowledgeable, responsive, and required minimal involvement from me. Won't use anyone else in future.
Was told this company is easy and hassle free. Thats not true for me, have been trying to speak to someone on saturday and today monday about bad email instructions and telling me to email an address that responds saying email cant be delivered, left numerous messages and only got a callback when the aussie home loan guy called some one. Now im presented with another issue that my email that they sent a login link too isnt registered go figure. Left another message with them and yet again no callback. Woried with the amount of system issues and no one calls me back whats going on.
We had a very disappointing experience with this conveyancing service. While settlement was completed, the process was unnecessarily stressful and poorly handled. The deficiencies outlined below resulted in unnecessary stress, financial uncertainty, and exposure to risk during a transaction involving our life savings. 1. Failure to Communicate Unconditional Approval in a Timely Manner Our unconditional loan approval was issued on 31 December 2025. We were informed by our broker, that the unconditional approval letter was forwarded to your office by the evening of that same day. Despite this, no formal confirmation was issued by Settleeasy to us or to the selling agent. We were required to initiate follow-up and call on the morning of 2 January 2026 to request that an official email be sent confirming the contract was unconditional—an email that was also being requested by the real estate agent. This delay constitutes a failure to act promptly on critical contractual matters and exposed us to unnecessary risk during a time-sensitive stage of the transaction. 2. Inadequate and Unclear Deposit Payment Instructions On 2 January 2026, being the due date for payment of the deposit, we were awaiting clear written instructions. Despite multiple attempts to contact her, no proper guidance was provided. The only direction received was to “pay the deposit to the same account that you have paid earlier,” which was unclear and inadequate for a legally and financially critical payment. This lack of clarity could have resulted in serious financial and contractual consequences. 3. Failure to Provide Competent Advice Regarding Tenanted Property The property was subject to an existing tenancy, with the lease expiring on 3 March 2026. We sought clear advice regarding responsibility for ensuring vacant possession at the expiry of the lease. When this issue was raised, we were advised, “I don’t know about rental law.” Given that this was a tenanted property transaction, it was incumbent upon Settleeasy to either provide competent advice or promptly escalate the matter to a suitably qualified professional. The failure to do so constitutes a lack of due care and professional diligence. 4. Late and Misleading Disclosure of Settlement Costs and Stamp Duty At the time we engaged Settleeasy and provided the contract, we explicitly asked whether there would be any payments required beyond your professional fees. We were advised that there would not be. We raised this question again on 8 January 2026. Despite these inquiries, on 16 January 2026, only six days prior to settlement, we were issued a statement advising of an $18,000 shortfall, including approximately $13,000 in stamp duty. As first home buyers, this late disclosure caused significant distress and placed us in an extremely difficult financial position. Stamp duty is a foreseeable and material cost, and the failure to clearly advise us of this liability in a timely manner represents a serious lapse in professional responsibility. 5. Failure to Adequately Address Smoke Alarm Compliance We raised concerns regarding smoke alarm compliance at the property. As you would be aware, in Australia it is a mandatory legal requirement that working smoke alarms be installed at all times, particularly in rental properties, where the vendor carries heightened responsibility. Our concerns were repeatedly dismissed, and it appeared that the vendor was not contacted regarding rectification until we escalated the matter. This issue was critical not only for legal compliance but also for insurance purposes, as insurers require confirmation of smoke alarm installation and functionality. Overall, the above matters demonstrate a pattern of inadequate communication, lack of proactive advice, and failure to meet the standard of care expected of a professional conveyancing service. This experience could have resulted in significant financial loss and jeopardised our ability to complete settlement.
Myself and my partner used Settle Easy, dealing primarily with Millianna, and it was an amazing experience. This was our first home so the whole experience was new and slightly daunting, but Millianna took her time to explain the processes and answer any questions we had. Whilst Millianna was on leave we also spoke with Emily who was just as accommodating. We’d highly recommend picking Settle Easy for your conveyancing needs!
Highly recommend settle easy. Our conveyancer Kaitlin Patterson was amazing and made us feel like her only client. As first home buyers we had no idea what we were doing and she made the whole experience stress free for us and was happy to answer all our questions. Also her support person Olivia was super lovely as well.
